Get to Know Us

The story of FlowStop began after witnessing the devastating effects of frequent flooding in vulnerable communities. Traditional flood prevention methods were often expensive, complex, and inadequate for protecting homes and businesses from unpredictable weather.

Driven by a passion for practical solutions, in 2019, our founder, Olivier Guillou, set out to develop a flexible, accessible, and highly effective flood barrier.

Through extensive bootstrapping, research, and development, in 2021, FlowStop was born—a custom-made, inflatable flood barrier designed to provide a reliable defense against rising waters. The aim was simple: to create a product that was easy to install, reusable, and adaptable to any opening, empowering property owners to take control of their flood protection.

Today, flowStop meets the needs of individuals, businesses, and communities across France, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Endorsed by leading insurers like Groupama and GMF, FlowStop’s solutions have become a trusted standard in flood prevention. With a production capacity of 150 units per day is rapidly expanding and exploring new markets, including Australia and India.

Its growing recognition includes the Prime Minister's Award at the 2023 Concours Lépine and titles such as French Assurtech and Greentech Laureate in 2024.

FlowStop is more than just a product; it’s a vision—a vision of a future where natural disasters are managed rather than endured. With FlowStop, prevention becomes simple, effective, and essential. Protecting to prevent suffering—that’s the mission.
